On Thursday March 23rd, a group of 60 York University students engaged in IBM projects were invited to visit the IBM Markham Software Lab. The students, coming from diverse backgrounds (Computer Science, Business, Engineering, etc. ), were given a glimpse into the world of IBM and a day filled with career coaching, inspirational talks and mentorship opportunities.

The event was a great success, with engaging career discussions and talks that gave students insights into the hiring process. One student said, "This experience impacted me by reminding myself to seek new opportunities and to keep improving my knowledge and skills." Students also shared that they found hearing about IBMers' honest experiences insightful and relatable. "I always thought that IBM was more of a traditional work setting where you went to work 9-5." The Advanced Studies team gives a special thanks to the 24 IBMers who volunteered their time, shared their expertise and motivated these brilliant young academics. Congrats to the whole team for a great day!
