4.13 Removing and Replacing the Power-supply Backplane

  Removing the power-supply backplane

To remove the power-supply backplane:

  1. Turn off the HMC and peripheral devices and disconnect all power cords.
  2. Remove the cover. (Refer to Removing and Replacing the Cover.)
  3. Disconnect the power supplies from the power-supply backplane. (Refer to Removing and Replacing the Power Supply.)

Start the video ...

  1. Disconnect the two blue signal cables from the system board, and disconnect the power cable from the power-supply backplane.
  2. Slide the power-supply backplane on the mounting pins to disconnect it from the system board. (If you are standing at the front of the HMC, you will be sliding the power-supply backplane to the left.)

    Note: It may not slide on the keyhold slots and disconnect easily from the system board. Continue to gently push on the backplane to slide it from the system board.

  3. Lift the power-supply backplane to remove it from the HMC.
